Reading, Pa. (Feb. 5, 2010) - The heavy snow in the weekend forecast is causing almost everyone in the Mid-Atlantic Region to consider rescheduling events. Alvernia University has announced the following changes in the weekend schedule:

Men's Basketball vs Messiah
Postponed and rescheduled for Monday at 6:00 p.m.

Women's Basketball vs. Messiah
Postponed with make-up date to be announced.

Ice Hockey
Both games this weekend have been postponed. Please check the ice hockey schedule for new game dates when they are available.

Indoor Track & Field

Reading, Pa. (Feb. 5, 2010) - The Alvernia University Women's Golf program confirmed its first recruit in early January when Montgomery High School (NJ) senior Paige Brach signed on with the Crusaders.

(Feb. 4, 2010) - Junior forward Alex Velazquez (Lancaster, Pa./Maheim Township) totaled 17 points and 10 rebounds, and was one of 13 players to score for Alvernia University (11-7) Thursday evening in a 72-32 win over Penn State-Schuylkill (11-7) in non-conference women's basketball action at the Physical Education Center.

(Feb. 3, 2010) - Junior guard Seth Cornell (Millersville, Pa./Penn Manor) knocked down his fifth 3 of the night with 16 seconds left to force overtime, and Alvernia University (14-6, 5-4) scored 18 points in the extra frame for an 82-75 win over Arcadia University (6-13, 0-9) in Commonwealth Conference men's basketball action at Arcadia.

Reading, Pa. (Jan. 30, 2010) - Alvernia University opened the conference season shooting 65 percent from the floor and stole a win at preseason favorite Elizabethtown. Twenty minutes into Saturday's rematch at Alvernia the Blue Jays had to think it was deja vu all over again as the Crusaders hit 60 percent from the floor and took a 41-37 lead into the halftime break.
