(Jan. 26, 2012) - Both the Men and Women's Track & Field Team have earned regional rankings as announced by the United States Track & Field And Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Wednesday afternoon. The Men's team is ranked 18th, while the women are ranked 21st in the Mid-East Region. This is the first time in program history that the Alvernia squad has cracked the regional rankings.

(Jan. 25, 2012) - Alvernia University senior Allie Toczylowski (Mantua, N.J./Clearview Regional) scored on a layup with 3:21 to play forcing a 61-all tie, but Messiah College (15-3, 6-1) scored the last nine points of the game for a 70-61 win over the Crusaders (8-9, 2-5) in Commonwealth Conference women's basketball action at Messiah.

(Jan. 25, 2012) - Messiah College (12-5, 6-1) used a 20-6 run over a seven-minute span in the first half to take control of the game and stayed ahead the rest of the way in a 71-57 win over Alvernia University (12-5, 4-3) Wednesday evening in Commonwealth Conference men's basketball action at Messiah.

Reading, Pa. (Jan. 24, 2012) - The Reading Philles presented the crown for Yogi Lutz as the King of Baseballtown Tuesday evening at their annual winter banquet hosted by the Crowne Plaza. Alvernia University President, Dr. Tom Flynn, and Lutz's parents accepted on his behalf after a late illness caused him to have to sit out the event.
