Reading, Pa. (August 26, 2010) - Alvernia Field Hockey was selected to finish tied for fourth out of eight teams in the Commonwealth Conference this season as voted on by head coaches. Defending Commonwealth Conference champion Messiah College took the top slot, while Lebanon Valley was picked to finish second.

Reading, Pa. (April 20, 2010) - Alvernia University announced today that Laura Gingrich has been named Head Field Hockey Coach. Gingrich, who will remain as Associate Athletic Director and Senior Woman Administrator, returns to the take over the program she guided from 1999-2007. She replaces Nicole Rhoads, who after two years at the helm will take the head coach position at her alma mater, Bloomsburg University.

Reading, Pa. (March 30, 2009) - Ten players from the Alvernia University Field Hockey team earned recognition on the 2009 Gladiator by SGI/NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad for earning GPAs of 3.3 or higher through the first semester of the 2009-2010 academic year.

November 23, 2009 (St. Peter's Church, Reading PA) - The field hockey team went to St. Peter's for the after school program. The team helped with homework and once the kids were completed with homework they had the opportunity to complete three arts and crafts. Station 1: a Thanksgiving wreath and listing everything they were thankful for. Station 2: coloring of Thanksgiving coloring books. Station 3: Thanksgiving Turkeys made out of construction paper. The kids really enjoyed the entire ensemble of events.
