Outstanding Senior Award Winners
Reading, Pa. (May 7, 2009) - Alvernia University Athletics honored its student athletes with its 21st Annual Awards Banquet at the Crowne Plaza in Reading on Wednesday May 6th. Senior volleyball and softball player Lauren Crimi (Nazareth, Pa./Notre Dame) and Men's Soccer player Chad Quinter (Exeter, Pa./Exeter) were named the Outstanding Senior Athletes of the Year.

Reading, Pa. (April 22, 2009) - Alvernia University Head Men's Basketball coach Mike Miller was inducted into the Berks Chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame as a part of their 2008 class, and recently accepted his award at the 2009 ceremony. Miller joins six others, including Olympian silver medalist Kristy Kowal as part of the 2008 induction class.

(April 3, 2009) - Seven Crusader student-athletes were named to the Middle Atlantic States Collegiate Athletic Corporation winter Academic Honor Roll as announced by the conference on Thursday afternoon. This Honor Roll comprises student-athletes of sophomore class standing or higher who participated in a varsity-level sport and registered a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 and completed the playing season in good standing.

The kids sat with game programs and proudly showed off their previously made posters that displayed the names and jersey numbers of their favorite players.

(Feb. 21, 2009) - First-place DeSales University (12-4 Freedom, 20-5 overall) proved to be too much for Alvernia University (6-10, 10-15) this afternoon in Freedom Conference action as they handed the Crusaders a 65-62 loss. Alvernia will not advance to the conference play-offs beginning Wed. Feb. 25.

Reading, Pa. (Feb. 18, 2009) - Every Wednesday, St. Peter's Catholic Church in Reading hosts an after-school program. The majority of children who attend are from St. Peter's School, but there are also some who come from St. Margaret's and other places. This past Wednesday, there were some special guests who attended the after-school program.
