Atlantic City, NJ (Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009) - The Richard Stockton College of NJ sent the Crusaders packing early on Saturday night delivering a decisive 8-0 blow at the Flyers Skate Zone in Atlantic City. The Ospreys dropped a “goose egg” on the Vern extending Alvernia's current losing streak to three games. The Crusader's lost was milestone, marking the first time Alvernia has been blanked since joining the ACHA back in the 2006-2007 season. The difficult defeat accounts for the longest losing streak in club history at three games.

Reading, Pa (Sunday Nov. 15, 2009) - The Vern snapped a three game losing skid with a tough win over the Lehigh University Engineers. Alvernia has fallen from grace after an early season run which earned them a respectful #3 in the Atlantic Ranking of the ACHA. Since the high water mark ranking the Vern has stumbled dropping five of the last eight games. The recent poll rankings had Alvernia sliding down the charts to the #11 position in the Atlantic Rankings. Fortunately the Crusaders managed a split this weekend after getting the doors blown off in Atlantic City on Saturday.

Long Island, NY (Saturday Nov. 7, 2009) - The Vern will be counting Rams in their sleep after dropping back to back weekend games to the West Chester Golden Rams and the Div. III ACHA power house Farmingdale State Rams. The Nationally Ranked Farmingdale State Rams have been steam rolling along and should be the favored team to reach the National Championship game in March.

Reading, Pa (Friday Nov. 6, 2009) - The Vern dropped a close conference game and blew a 2-1 lead in the third period. The up start West Chester University Golden Rams entered the contest with a perfect 6-0 start to the season grabbing a commanding lead in the DVCHC lower bracket division. The Rams out skated the Crusaders creating numerical superiority all night long with a flurry of odd man rushes. The 3-2 score was somewhat misleading as the Rams outshot the Crusaders 44-23. Alvernia Goaltender Michael Restuccia (Chester Springs, Pa / Bishop Shanahan HS) kept the Vern close slowing down waves of offensive pressure mounted by the Golden Rams.

Reading, Pa (Fri. Oct. 30, 2009) - The Vern cruised to a convincing victory as host Penn State Berks skated with a short bench that could not match the Crusader speed and intensity. Alvernia's well balanced offense featured six different goal scorers. The game marked the first time Alvernia has played the Blue Lions in an official ACHA Division III conference game.

Whitehall, Pa (October 17, 2009) - The Crusaders exercised the Lehigh Valley Ice Rink demons with a gritty 7-5 win over the East Stroudsburg University Warriors. The Crusader's probably should have started the game shorthanded as it basically skated a large majority of regulation on the penalty kill. The Vern set an organizational record with three “shorties” in the third period off great individual efforts from forwards Eric Ryan (Aston, Pa / Sun Valley HS) and Sean Castineira (Philadelphia, Pa / Roman Catholic HS). The team battled adversity all game defending three 2-man disadvantages and turned two of them into shorthanded goals.

The Crusader's validated Friday nights 4-2 win over PSU Delco with a convincing 9-2 peppering of Neumann University on Sunday.
