Reading, Pa. (Feb. 5, 2010) - The heavy snow in the weekend forecast is causing almost everyone in the Mid-Atlantic Region to consider rescheduling events. Alvernia University has announced the following changes in the weekend schedule:

Men's Basketball vs Messiah
Postponed and rescheduled for Monday at 6:00 p.m.

Women's Basketball vs. Messiah
Postponed with make-up date to be announced.

Ice Hockey
Both games this weekend have been postponed. Please check the ice hockey schedule for new game dates when they are available.

Indoor Track & Field

(Feb. 4, 2010) - Junior forward Alex Velazquez (Lancaster, Pa./Maheim Township) totaled 17 points and 10 rebounds, and was one of 13 players to score for Alvernia University (11-7) Thursday evening in a 72-32 win over Penn State-Schuylkill (11-7) in non-conference women's basketball action at the Physical Education Center.

(Feb. 3, 2010) - Junior forward Alex Velazquez (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) scored seven of her team-high 20 points during a 23-6 second-half run that led Alvernia University (10-7, 6-3) to a 75-63 win over Arcadia University (5-14, 0-9) Wednesday evening in Commonwealth Conference women's basketball action at Arcadia.

Reading, Pa. (Feb. 1, 2010) - Junior guard Kelli McIntyre (Orwigsburg, Pa./Blue Mountain) was named the Commomwealth Conference Player of the Week as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon. This is the third weekly conference award for Women's Basketball after sophomore Angela Altemose (Pottsville, Pa./Nativity) earned the award twice (12/1, 1/4).
