The men's and women's Crusader lacrosse teams have been collecting used lacrosse equipment since they have been at school this semester. The teams gathered this past Tuesday to box up all the equipment they have assembled and sent it to a group called Fields of Growth International.

(August 28, 2009) - The Alvernia University Women's Lacrosse team has earned Division III Acacdemic Squad honors as announced by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) earlier this month. This honor was awarded to 62 Division III Institutions who posted team GPAs of 3.0 or above.

Reading, Pa. (June 9, 2009) - Lacrosse website laxpower.com released its list of biggest team improvements with Alvernia University ranking in the top five for improvements from 2008 to 2009. The Crusaders finished the season 8-9 after posting a 2-13 record a season ago.

Reading, Pa. (June 8, 2009) - 18 Crusader student-athletes were named to the Middle Atlantic States Collegiate Athletic Corporation Spring Academic Honor Roll as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon. This Honor Roll comprises student-athletes of sophomore class standing or higher who participated in a varsity-level sport and registered a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale and completed the playing season in good standing.
Eric Focht's sliding play behind the bag got the Crusaders out of the eighth.

Awards: none After just moving to a new conference this year, the women's lacrosse team started their season out strong. The first two games of their season were played in sunny Florida, where the Crusaders picked up two wins against Gwynedd-Mercy College and Neumann College and quickly jumped to a 2-0 record to start off their year. After returning from Orlando, the girls won their next four straight games, getting the season off to a record-breaking 6-0 start for the Alvernia women's lacrosse program.

Senior volleyball and softball player Lauren Crimi (Nazareth, Pa./Notre Dame) and Men's Soccer player Chad Quinter (Exeter, Pa./Exeter) were named the Outstanding Senior Athletes of the Year.

(Apr. 22, 2009) - Alvernia University (8-8, 2-8) scored three straight goals in a minute span to knot the score at 13-all, but Arcadia University (3-10, 2-8) scored the final two goals of the game to take a 15-13 win Wednesday afternoon in Middle Atlantic States Collegiate Athletic Conference action at Arcadia.
