(May 1, 2010) Reading, Pa - Alvernia University hosted the first annual Reading Wounded Warrior 5k Race/Walk to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project, a national organization supporting wounded veterans. The race is hosted around the nation to honor and support the daily sacrifices made by the brave men and women in all branches of the United States Military. The mission of the Wounded Warrior Project is to honor and empower wounded warriors by raising awareness and enlisting the public's aid for the needs of severely injured service men and women, to help severely injured service members aid and assist each other and to provide unique, direct programs and services to meet the needs of severely injured service members.

(May 12, 2010) - Junior Felicia Sippel (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Hubert) and sophomore Samantha Landis (Watsontown, Pa./Warrior Run) were named to the Women's Lacrosse All-MAC Second Team as announced by the conference on Wednesday afternoon. Teammates Sarah George (Westchester, Pa./Westchester Bayard Rustin) and Alyssa Verrillo (North Wales, Pa./Archbishop Wood) earned Honorable Mention.

(May 12, 2010) - Freshman Alyssa Verrillo (North Wales, Pa./Archbishop Wood) scored five of her game-high six goals in the first half as fourth-seeded Alvernia University (12-5) built a 13-7 halftime lead en route to a 21-12 victory over #5 Frostburg St. Wednesday afternoon in the quarterfinals of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Mid-Atlantic Region Championships at Schlager Memorial Field.
