Wounded Warrior

(May 1, 2010) Reading, Pa - Alvernia University hosted the first annual Reading Wounded Warrior 5k Race/Walk to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project, a national organization supporting wounded veterans. The race is hosted around the nation to honor and support the daily sacrifices made by the brave men and women in all branches of the United States Military. The mission of the Wounded Warrior Project is to honor and empower wounded warriors by raising awareness and enlisting the public's aid for the needs of severely injured service men and women, to help severely injured service members aid and assist each other and to provide unique, direct programs and services to meet the needs of severely injured service members.

(Nov. 14, 2009) - Senior Bridget Burger (Lansdale, Pa./Lansdale Catholilc) finished the 6K women's race in 103rd (24:32) and freshman Chris Brennan (Reading, Pa./Exeter) finished the 8K men's race in 209th (29:21) as the Crusaders finished 44th as a team in both races at the NCAA Cross Country East Regional at Lehigh University.

(Oct. 31, 2009) - Alvernia University senior Briget Burger (Lansdale, Pa./LansdaleCatholic) covered the 6K course at the Middle Atlantic States Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Cross Country race in 26:55 to finish 42nd and lead the Crusaders to a 13th place finish out of 14 teams.
