Reading, Pa. (Mar. 4, 2008) – Alvernia College freshman Kelli McIntyre (Orwigsburg, Pa./Blue Mountain) and senior Jill Rosolie (Quarryville, Pa./Solanco) were both named to the All-Pennsylvania Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Second Team while senior Ashley Blevins (York, Pa./Eastern York) earned a spot on the All-Sportsmanship Team as announced Tuesday by the organization. All three student-athletes are making their first appearance on All-PAC teams.

McIntyre proved to be the heart and soul of the Crusaders this year with the team losing all four games she missed during a stretch in the middle of the season and rebounding to win nine straight games once she returned. McIntyre led the Crusaders in scoring (14.3 per game) and steals (40). She finished the season on a streak of 12 straight games scoring in double figures, eight of which were 20-plus, including her career-high 25 which she reached twice, both in home wins over Centenary. McIntyre shot 45 percent from the 3-point arc and pulled down 3.7 rebounds per game.

Rosolie was second on the team in scoring at 11.9 points per game, second in free throws percentage at 77 percent, and also shot better than 40 percent from the arc finishing the season 23-of-57 (40.4 percent) from long range.

Blevins completed a career that was slowed by injury, but put in admirable effort the whole time. She appeared in 23 games for the Crusaders this season and averaged just better than three points and two rebounds per contest.

Alvernia struggled to a 5-12 record through the first 17 games but rebounded nicely to win the last eight regular season games and its first PAC playoff game, a 79-62 win over Centenary at home for win number nine. The season ended for the Crusaders at 14-13 with a 79-71 loss at top-seeded Gwynedd-Mercy in the conference semifinals.
