Reading, Pa. (Mar. 31, 2008) – Alvernia College freshman Christy Yousaitis (West Lawn, Pa./Wilson) and sophomore Charlie Hughes (Kenhorst, Pa./Governor Mifflin) spent their Spring Break helping the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference fulfill its 15th Anniversary Year of Service project by lending a hand to a Habitat For Humanity project in York, Pa.

In all, 12 student-athletes represented the PAC in York during the first week of March helping to build homes for low-income families. The grouped worked on a section of five townhouses that had been damaged in a fire more than 20 years ago. Yousaitis and Hughes mainly worked on crews hanging fire retardant drywall between the houses.

One of the perks of the trip was a mid-week trip for the entire team down to Baltimore’s Inner Harbor where they toured the entire aquarium, watched the dolphin show, and took in a 4-D movie about aquatic life.
