Reading, Pa. (Apr. 22, 2008) – Alvernia College junior Terrence Shawell (Pottstown, Pa./Pottstown) was named to the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III South First Team All-Star on Tuesday.

Shawell, the Player of the Year in the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC), First Team D3hoops.com All-Region, and Fourth Team All-American, led the Crusaders to their third straight regular season conference title this season. He scored double figures in all 27 games going for 20-plus points 16 times including a season-high 35 points in a home win over Gwynedd-Mercy.

Shawell was a three-time PAC player of the week and was named ECAC South Region Player of the Week and a member of the D3hoops.com Team of the Week on Jan. 23 after averaging 32.7 points and 5.0 rebounds in a 3-0 conference week. He was also named to the All-Tournament Team at the Sponaugle New Year’s Tip-Off Tournament hosted by Franklin & Marshall.

Softball
Batted .600 (7-12) in two conference matchups for the Crusaders this week. Two doubles, one triple, and two homeruns contributed to four RBIs for Sorrentino, also plated 6 runs scored.
Baseball
Batted .667 (10-15) with three doubles, one triple, and three RBIs in a 2 win, 2 lose week for the Crusaders. Also scored 9 runs and was perfect in stolen base attempts. (3-3)
