Aston, Pa. (April 2, 2008) – Neumann, outscoring the Crusaders 12-4 in the last 3 quarters, pulls away for a 16-7 victory over Alvernia College in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference men’s lacrosse action at Neumann.

Neumann (1-7, 1-1 PAC) used two 3 goal runs and two 4 goal runs to overtake Alvernia, who had an early 2-1 lead in the first quarter. Sophomore Matt Toth led the Knights with 5 goals, with sophomores Kyle Gardner and Kyle Scheckler chipped in with 3 goals apiece.

Alvernia was led by sophomore Chris Baker (Exeter, Pa./Exeter) and freshman Ben Stidham (Glen Burnie, Md./Cardinal Gibbons), who each scored 2 goals. Senior Tom Novak (Pottstown, Pa./Pottsgrove), junior Dan Dempsey (Philadelphia, Pa./North Catholic (Widener)), and freshman Jeff Bohler (Ephrata, Pa./Ephrata) each scored one goal.

Softball
Batted .600 (7-12) in two conference matchups for the Crusaders this week. Two doubles, one triple, and two homeruns contributed to four RBIs for Sorrentino, also plated 6 runs scored.
Baseball
Batted .667 (10-15) with three doubles, one triple, and three RBIs in a 2 win, 2 lose week for the Crusaders. Also scored 9 runs and was perfect in stolen base attempts. (3-3)

Reading, Pa. (June 19, 2008) - Alvernia College had 60 of the 462 student-athletes honored on the All-Pennsylvania Athletic Conference Academic Team. The baseball program has the most members with 14 and softball wasn't far behind with 11 members.

Reading, PA (May 19, 2008) - Senior midfielder Tom Novak (Pottstown, PA/Pottsgrove) led the Alvernia offense this season with 34 goals and 15 assists. His 49 points this season helped him to break the career record for points with 130, surpassing the previous record of 81. He also set the record for career goals with 93 and career assists with 39. Novak scored at least one goal in every game this season and had a season-high five goals twice. For his efforts Novak was honored with a Second Team All-PAC selection.
