Senior Earns Third Win In Four Weeks

ALVERNIA RESULTS

Reading, Pa. (Oct. 3, 2009) - Alvernia University senior Bridget Burger (Lansdale, Pa./Lansdale) won her third race in the last four weeks leading the Crusaders to a fifth place finish out of nine teams at the Albright College Cross Country Invitational Saturday morning.

Burger finished the 6K course in 25:54. Diana Christman (Reading, Pa./Muhlenberg) finished 21st followed by Emily Bieber (Blandon, Pa./Oley Valley) in 23rd, Katie Roesch (Glenfields, Pa./Olefield) in 39th, and Veronica Marzen (Lehighton, Pa./Marian Catholic) in 46th.

Alvernia will race at DeSales next Saturday.

Alvernia Host Reading Wounded Warrior 5k

(May 1, 2010) Reading, Pa - Alvernia University hosted the first annual Reading Wounded Warrior 5k Race/Walk to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project, a national organization supporting wounded veterans. The race is hosted around the nation to honor and support the daily sacrifices made by the brave men and women in all branches of the United States Military. The mission of the Wounded Warrior Project is to honor and empower wounded warriors by raising awareness and enlisting the public's aid for the needs of severely injured service men and women, to help severely injured service members aid and assist each other and to provide unique, direct programs and services to meet the needs of severely injured service members.

Lehigh, Pa. (Nov. 14, 2009) - Senior Bridget Burger (Lansdale, Pa./Lansdale Catholilc) finished the 6K women's race in 103rd (24:32) and freshman Chris Brennan (Reading, Pa./Exeter) finished the 8K men's race in 209th (29:21) as the Crusaders finished 44th as a team in both races at the NCAA Cross Country East Regional at Lehigh University.

Burger Continues To Pace Crusaders

Frederick, Md. (Oct. 17, 2009) - Alvernia University senior Bridget Burger (Lansdale, Pa./Lansdale Catholic) continues to run at a career pace finishing fourth in a time of 25:32 at the Hood College Women's Cross Country Invitational. Burger finished 52 seconds off the pace set by race winner Roni Frey of Shenandoah.
