Center Valley, Pa. (Oct. 31, 2009) - Alvernia University freshman Chris Brennan (Reading, Pa./Exeter) finished the 8k course at the Middle Atlantic States Collegiate Athletic Corporation men's cross country race in 30:39, good enough for 56th place leading the Crusaders to 13th place out of 14 teams Saturday afternoon.

Finished second for the Crusaders in 93 place was Philip Rakszawski (Lansdale, Pa./Christopher Dock) in a time of 33:29.  Jason Karpinski (Douglassville, Pa./St. Piux X) was next for Alvernia in 102th place in a time of 34:04.  Dan Whery (Philadelphia, Pa./Franklin Towne Center) was 133rd in 51:43, and Tim Bolinger (Spring Grove, Pa./Spring Grove) was 134th in 56:36.

(May 1, 2010) Reading, Pa - Alvernia University hosted the first annual Reading Wounded Warrior 5k Race/Walk to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project, a national organization supporting wounded veterans. The race is hosted around the nation to honor and support the daily sacrifices made by the brave men and women in all branches of the United States Military. The mission of the Wounded Warrior Project is to honor and empower wounded warriors by raising awareness and enlisting the public's aid for the needs of severely injured service men and women, to help severely injured service members aid and assist each other and to provide unique, direct programs and services to meet the needs of severely injured service members.
