Reading, Pa. (Apr. 18, 2009) - Elizabethtown College (9-3, 5-3) scored eight first-quarter goals en route to a 20-3 win over Alvernia University (2-10, 0-8) Saturday afternoon in Middle Atlantic States Collegiate Athletic Conference men's lacrosse action at Sovereign Bank Sports Park.

The Blue Jays got scoring from 11 different players including a game-high five goals from Aaron Weber.  Alvernia scored once in each quarter from the second through the fourth getting goals from Chris Baker (Exeter, Pa./Exeter) in the second, Ben Stidham (Glen Burnie, Md./Cardinal Gibbons) in the third and the first of the season from Michael Terris (Somerville, N.J./Somerville) in the fourth.

Alvernia split time in net getting 17 saves from Kevin Shupp (Cranford, N.J./Cranford) and a pair from Eric Jones (East Lyme, Conn./East Lyme).  Three Etown keepers played a totaled seven saves.

Alvernia returns to action on Wednesday when it hosts DeSales University for senior day.

Reading, Pa. (Aug. 27, 2010) - Alvernia University Director of Athletics Bill Stiles announced Friday the hiring of Rich Carrington as the new head coach of Men's Lacrosse. Carrington joins the staff after building the program at Chestnut Hill College and takes over for seven-year head coach Kevin Meany.

The 2010 Men's squad was picked 12th in the Commonwealth Conference preseason poll. The Crusader Men's Lacrosse team recorded four wins this season, their second highest win total in program history. Their season began with a close 9-11 loss against Centenary College, followed by a 7-6 win over Husson University. They then won two out of their next three games thanks to a convincing 8-7 defeat of College of Mt. Saint Vincent that went into two overtime periods.
