Reading, Pa. (April 6, 2009) - The Alvernia Men's Tennis match scheduled for this afternoon at 3:30pm against Lebanon Valley College has been postponed due to the weather.  No reschedule date has been set yet.

Reading, Pa. (June 8, 2009) - 18 Crusader student-athletes were named to the Middle Atlantic States Collegiate Athletic Corporation Spring Academic Honor Roll as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon. This Honor Roll comprises student-athletes of sophomore class standing or higher who participated in a varsity-level sport and registered a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale and completed the playing season in good standing.

Reading, Pa. (May 7, 2009) - Alvernia University Athletics honored its student athletes with its 21st Annual Awards Banquet at the Crowne Plaza in Reading on Wednesday May 6th. Senior volleyball and softball player Lauren Crimi (Nazareth, Pa./Notre Dame) and Men's Soccer player Chad Quinter (Exeter, Pa./Exeter) were named the Outstanding Senior Athletes of the Year.

In their first season after leaving the PAC (now CSAC) Conference, the men's tennis team finished 2-11 overall, 2-5 in the MAC's Freedom Conference. The Crusaders struggled early on in their season, starting out 0-5, but yet to play a conference match. They played their first conference match against King's College back in the end of March, but took the 3-6 loss and fell 0-1 in the Freedom Conference.
