Reading, Pa. (May 12, 2009) – Alvernia University has promoted assistant coach Lindsay Trottier to the position of head softball coach. Trottier replaces 12-year head coach Craig Wojszwillo as the fifth head coach of the program and will lead the Crusaders into their first year in the Commonwealth Conference next season.
Wojszwillo, the winningest coach in program history, led the Crusaders to an overall 202-199 record (.504) over his 12 years at the helm, and has guided the team to the playoffs in all but two seasons. He has led two teams into the ECAC Championships while coaching a conference Rookie of the Year, 11 all-conference first team honorees, and 10 all-conference second team honorees. Wojszwillo’s career was highlighted by a 24-17 season in 2002 and a record-setting 31-12 season in 2008.
Trottier served as Wojszwillo’s assistant for the 2006 through 2009 seasons. She is a 2005 graduate of Seton Hall University where she was a four-year member of the Division I softball team. She served as captain and led the team to repeat Big East Championships in 2004 and 2005, the first ever conference titles for Seton Hall Softball. Coach Trottier was a Big East Academic All-Star during her four seasons at Seton Hall, was a two-time NFCA Academic All-American, and was selected to the CoSIDA Academic All-District II Team in 2004.
Trottier hails from Ontario, Canada, and holds a BS in Business Administration from Seton Hall University and an MBA from Alvernia University.
