2009 Spring Sportsmanship Teams

Reading, Pa. (May 20, 2009) - The Middle Atlantic States Collegiate Athletic Corporation announced its first annual sportsmanship teams for spring 2009 conference sports on Monday May 18.

These teams include a player from each conference school who has demonstrated exceptional sportsmanship through their actions on and off the field during the season. The players are selected by the players and coaches from their respective schools.

Five Alvernia University student-athletes were named to the 2009 Spring Sportsmanship Team. The following athletes received the honor:

Ryan Richard , Sr., Men’s Lacrosse
Tara Walls, Jr., Women’s Lacrosse
Lillian Snyder, So., Women’s Tennis

Widener Doubleheader Postponed

Reading, Pa. (Feb. 9, 2010) - Wednesday's basketball doubleheader between Widener University and Alvernia University has been postponed due to heavy snow in the forecast. The games have been rescheduled for Thursday at 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. at Alvernia.

Alvernia Inducts 2009 Class To Hall Of Fame

Reading, Pa. (Oct. 18, 2009) - Homecoming and Family weekend at Alvernia University culminated Sunday afternoon in the induction ceremony of the 2009 Class of the Athletics Hall of Fame. Inducted on Sunday were Cristie Ansbach, Daimen Hunter, Carl Solarek, Jr., Steve Westley, and the 1991 Baseball team.
